Taibi Kahler, PhD, Process Communication Model®
The Process Communication Model® (PCM) was developed by Dr. Taibi Kahler and has since been successfully applied worldwide in management, workplace health management, medicine, politics, aviation, NASA, public transport and schools. NASA uses it as part of the selection and training programme for astronauts.
Dr. Taibi Kahler earned his PhD at Purdue University and is a recognised clinical psychologist. With the Process Communication Model®, he developed a valuable tool that enables leaders to quickly assess problems and predict the likelihood of success of potential solutions.
In 1977, the International Transactional Analysis Association (ITAA) awarded him the Eric Berne Memorial Scientific Award. The ITAA, an association with 10,000 members from 52 countries, honoured Kahler's groundbreaking paper "The Miniscript".
NASA's psychiatric consultant, Dr. Terry McGuire, also invited Dr. Taibi Kahler to act as an interviewing psychologist. As a result, Kahler's communication and team-building model, PCM, subsequently became part of NASA's astronaut selection and training programme.
In a 1990 study supported by NASA, the Process Communication Model® was compared with the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). The study showed that process communication according to Dr. Taibi Kahler is far more practical and easier to apply. In particular, the identification of psychological needs, the predictability of distress patterns, and compatibility with other models accounted for PCM's superiority.
As a guest speaker, Dr. Taibi Kahler appears at numerous international congresses, has published several books, and has written more than 40 articles for professional journals.
Dr. Taibi Kahler, an advisor and friend of former US President Clinton, successfully supported the development of his election campaigns as a consultant using the Process Communication Model®.
